1. Overview
This Refund Policy applies to all purchases made through the MapVG service ("Service"), operated by JayDeeCo Limited. It should be read alongside our Terms of Service, of which this Refund Policy forms a part and is incorporated by reference.
MapVG is a map-to-SVG conversion tool. Access to the App’s paid conversion features is governed by a credit system. Credits are purchased in packs at the prices listed on the pricing page and within the App.
2. General Refund Position
All credit purchases are final and non-refundable, except where stated otherwise in this policy or required by applicable law.
Credits are digital goods that are delivered to your account immediately upon successful payment. Once credits have been added to your account, they are available for immediate use and cannot be returned, exchanged, or transferred to another account.
3. Try Before You Buy
MapVG offers a free conversion feature for map areas of 1 km² or less. We strongly encourage you to test the App using this free feature before purchasing credits, so you can evaluate the quality, format, and suitability of our exports for your needs.
Free conversions produce the same output quality as paid conversions, giving you a representative preview of what to expect.
4. Consent to Immediate Delivery and Waiver of Withdrawal Right (EU/EEA Buyers)
If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, EU Directive 2011/83/EU (the Consumer Rights Directive) grants you a 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases of digital content. However, this right may be waived where the consumer expressly consents to immediate performance and acknowledges the loss of the withdrawal right.
By completing a credit purchase on MapVG, you:
- Expressly request and consent to the immediate delivery of your purchased credits to your account;
- Acknowledge that credits are digital content that is not supplied on a tangible medium;
- Acknowledge and agree that, because the credits are delivered to your account immediately and are available for immediate use, you lose your 14-day right of withdrawal from the moment the credits are added to your account.
This consent is obtained during the checkout process before payment is finalised. If you do not agree to immediate delivery and the associated waiver, you should not complete the purchase.
5. When a Refund May Be Granted
While credit purchases are generally non-refundable, we may issue a refund or credit restoration in the following circumstances:
5.1 Erroneous or Duplicate Charges
If you believe you were charged in error — for example, a duplicate charge for the same credit pack — please contact us at hello@mapvg.com within 14 days of the charge. We will investigate and, if the charge was made in error, issue a full refund to your original payment method.
5.2 Failed Conversions Due to a Service Error
If a conversion fails due to an error on our part (a service or infrastructure fault, not a user error or an issue with the selected map area), we will restore the credit consumed by that conversion to your account. This is a credit restoration, not a monetary refund.
5.3 Account Termination by MapVG Without Cause
If we terminate your account without cause (i.e. not as a result of a breach of our Terms of Service by you), we will refund the value of any unused credits at the rate at which they were originally purchased.
6. When a Refund Will Not Be Granted
Refunds will not be issued in the following situations:
- You change your mind after purchasing credits;
- You no longer need credits or no longer wish to use MapVG;
- A map has exported as expected, but you are dissatisfied with its content or file (the underlying map data comes from OpenStreetMap and varies by region – we encourage you to test with the free conversion feature first);
- You used a credit to generate a map but did not download the file after the conversion (a credit is consumed at the point of conversion, not at download);
- Your account is terminated by us due to a breach of our Terms of Service;
- You voluntarily close your account (any unused credits are forfeited upon account closure).
7. How to Request a Refund
MapVG charges appear as DODOPAY_MAPVG on your bank or card statement. To request a refund or report an erroneous charge, please email us at hello@mapvg.com with the following information:
- The email address associated with your MapVG account;
- The date and approximate amount of the charge;
- A brief description of the issue.
We aim to acknowledge all refund requests within 3 business days and to resolve them within 14 days. If a refund is approved, it will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase. Processing times depend on your bank or card issuer and are outside our control.
8. Chargebacks
All payments are processed by Dodo Payments as the Merchant of Record. Chargebacks and payment disputes are therefore handled by Dodo Payments in accordance with their policies and processes.
If you believe a charge is incorrect, we encourage you to contact us first at hello@mapvg.com so we can investigate and resolve the issue directly. Chargebacks initiated without prior contact may result in your MapVG account being suspended pending investigation.
9. Currency and Refund Processing
All base prices on MapVG are listed in United States Dollars (USD). At checkout, Dodo Payments (the Merchant of Record) may convert the price to your local currency based on the exchange rate at the time of purchase.
If a refund is approved, it will be processed by Dodo Payments in your original payment currency at the original exchange rate applied to your purchase. MapVG is not responsible for any currency conversion fees applied by your bank or card issuer.
10. Consumer Protection Rights
Nothing in this Refund Policy limits or excludes any rights you may have under mandatory consumer protection legislation in your jurisdiction, including but not limited to:
- The New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986;
- The EU Consumer Rights Directive (Directive 2011/83/EU) and its national implementations;
- The Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010);
- The UK Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Where this Refund Policy conflicts with the mandatory consumer protection laws applicable to you, those laws prevail.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you by email to the address associated with your account, or by displaying a notice within the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
